Howdy, I’m Josh.

It’s super important to know who will be joining you on your journey. I want you to feel you can trust me, be vulnerable, and be honest as we explore what’s next in your life.

I’ve been a professional classical musician for the past 15 years and performed all over the world. I continue to enjoy performing and working in a collaborative environment to create exceptional experiences.

I’ve had to work through the fears, failures, and obstacles that prevent living a meaningful and intentional life as I have made my own transition to pursue coaching as my full-time passion. Now I use my training and diverse life and career experience to help people like you understand and clarify what’s most important.

I’m a creative and yet am still intimately familiar with getting stuck in the logistical, over analytical trap of how to do things, rather than remembering to ask “why?“ I understand both the challenge and the benefit of sticking to a longer, deeper approach to transformation and the reward of not giving up on goals that have seemingly been collecting dust on the metaphorical shelf.

I’d love to help you find clarity, confidence, and balance. If you’d like to learn more about how I left a dream job to pursue helping others believe in themselves and clarify their purpose, keep exploring the sections below. If you continue to find yourself waiting for the perfect time to change, you will always be waiting.

'“It doesn’t matter who you are today. The only thing that matters is who you want to become, and the price you’re willing to pay to get there.” -Tom Bilyeu

Why I coach

I worked hard through high school, college, and grad school to win the positions I’ve held and saw the career path in front of me for the next 20 years. But I slowly realized it wasn’t what I was hoping for. I've always conquered an obstacle, gained new insights, or succeeded faster and more sustainably with a coach, mentor, or teacher. When I was willing to ask for help and trust someone, I succeeded faster and achieved more. I started realizing and believing in myself (even with the fear) and accessed my limitless potential.

I am a coach because I know from experience that we’re able to accomplish much more than we imagine is possible (ask me about the military or ultra-running sometime). I know without my coaches, mentors, and teachers, I would not have seen my unhelpful patterns, faced my fears, and moved past them.

Coaching Style

I’m engaging, challenging, and compassionate when helping you develop self-accountability, confidence, and action. This is not a philosophical, bar stool vortex conversation. You create forward movement from whatever learning occurs. This is about transforming your life and how you interact with the world. I help you believe in your own creativity, resourcefulness, and ability to make conscious choices WITHOUT me…to live a life only YOU can imagine is possible.

Who do I work with?

Potentially, you. I’d love to say , “I help humans be more awesome and resonant in life,” but that doesn’t help anyone understand what I do.

I work with ambitious and motivated people who want more but don’t know what that looks like, or how/where to start.

If you’re thinking, “I’m pretty successful already and things are going well. I don’t need a coach. I can figure it out,” then awesome. I haven’t accomplished as much as I have by not being self-motivated, extremely competitive, and disciplined. However, I have achieved more and sustained my success with the support of someone else’s spurring and perspective. This is hard work and takes time. It is a process that will evoke self-transformation.

Other people I support most effectively, that have benefitted from working together:

  • High achievers and perfectionists in a new role or career transition, seeking a more fulfilling contribution and clarified purpose
  • New and aspiring coaches discovering their voice and confidence as a coach
  • Musicians and Creatives exploring new directions and potential career outlets
  • Veterans in transition desiring clarity and seeking meaning in returning to civilian life

What are my credentials?

Great question! I’ve been trained and certified at one of the oldest and highly regarded institutions in the world, The Co-Active Training Institute. I purposely sought certification from an organization that has great leaders, instructors, and a curriculum that was not based only on case studies, but an experiential, real-life learning approach. Through this program accredited by the International Coaching Federation, the governing body of the coaching profession, I’ve learned and trained alongside colleagues all over the world, always developing my skills and opening my perspectives. I continue to develop my skills through other leadership and coaching programs to grow professionally and personally. I currently hold a CPCC(Certified Professional Co-Active Coach,) and an ACC(Associate Certified Coach) credential.

The backstory

I’d taken over 20 professional auditions, and still couldn’t quite break through to the next level.  I studied with the best teachers, was performing well and was doing everything I knew how to do, to get a job.  However, so much of my energy was wrapped up in perfectionism, ego, and fear of rejection. It wasn’t until someone else helped me realize I was getting in my own way that I was able to shift my focus. I cared more about how I was perceived than believing I was capable, enough, and confident in my story. I became aware of my fears and changed my approach to performing; success followed within weeks.  That one conversation helped shift my perspective and finally opened my mind to my potential.

I’ve been extremely fortunate to have made a living since then performing in the military, and numerous professional orchestras throughout North America and around the world.

Life was great.

However, questions about my purpose and impact in the world became louder and more repetitive over time.

The “job” part of my earlier passion started to burn me out.

It was 4am as I was following a mountain guide, while hugging cold granite and inching up a peak in Jackson, WY, when I realized how much more in life was possible with someone else’s patience, guidance, and support. I realized I wanted to be that presence for others. Shortly after that climb, I began working with a coach and recognized my deeper passions involved helping others get past their doubts, fears, and lack of direction - something I knew intimately being a performer.

This experience ties directly into the inception of this company.  We all have canyons of stories, doubts, beliefs, and dreams.  I am here to help you explore those vast expanses of thoughts and desires that can be energizing to explore, disheartening to admit giving up, but necessary for growth and change.  I’m your guide as we climb into those canyons and help you discover your whole, authentic, confident self.  You do the lead climbing, but I’ve got you on belay.
